Cinescape Increases Tickets by KWD 0.500

A friend of mine emailed me this:

KNCC Ticket Price Increase

Effective from February 7th, 2008, the ticket price for attending a cinema show is increasing from KWD 2.500 to 3.000. In my opinion, a 0.500 increase isn’t too bad.

I was surprised to see that there were discounted prices for Monday shows. I wonder if people take advantage of this offer. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the cinemas full on Mondays. It’s worth attending when it’s half the price of an average ticket!

VIP cost KWD 6.000 which is double the price of an average ticket. I haven’t been to the VIP cinema yet. Is it worth the extra price?

Well, I’ve never been to the VIP ones bas naaaah I do not think it’s worth it! I could buy 6 cheap DVDs and enjoy them at home on my sofa with free popcorn and soda :D It’s ridiculous and Mondays will be the worst I feel

I agree, .500 KD isnt that bad and the monday thing is a good Idea, when I was living in canada, there was a same offer but it was on tuesdays and it was packed evertime but it might be different in kuwait. I really dont think the VIP cinema is worth it, but then again I havent been there.

chikapappi that’s true! Especially with the censored state of our cinemas, a good DVD would be a much better investment.

Bader the only thing I am wondering about is whether another 0.500 hike is in the future because usually they raise the prices in increments.

I had wished they’d do matinees instead of full day specials but I can see myself going to movies on Mondays (as long as its an early show and I’ve booked tickets early).
If the 3 kd admission means they’ll be less kids and idiots at the theater then I’m all for it.
As for the VIP seats, I could never fathom paying 6kd for a seat (unless someone’s giving me a massage throughout the movie). 6kd can feed famished families for 3 months that’s just disturbing.
I miss drive thru’s, we used to go in a pickup packed with pillows and blankets…ahh good times.
(mention poor african children, check…mention the good old days, check…yes I officially turned 400 years old with this comment).

I’ve never been to a drive inn, the only left in kuwait is the one in ahmadi but they dont play movies there anymore.
